Erick Kalugdan, co-owner of GiveMe Unlimited, an SMS-based information delivery service company was in one of the meetings and he's offered to work with me to bring real-time feedback to the conference. Most everyone in attendance will have a mobile phone - that's a lot of phones - and everyone uses SMS, so it will be easy for me to solicit votes or questions and have the results displayed in real-time to me on the platform. Neat!
I saw this done at the Enterprise 2.0 conference in Boston, this past summer, and it worked surprisingly well. Michael invited the audience to text a number to cast their vote for preferred product presentation. That was a small audience (<1,000) so this will be taking things to an entirely new level. It would be great to be able invite the audience to submit their questions. What if even 5% responded. that could be 400 messages! I would need a system and staff to quickly select questions to text me with on the platform so that I could respond. I'm always up for a new adventure. I'm currently exploring this idea with Erick and we'll see what we can do.
