My colleague from New Zealand, Michael Sampson, and his boys have provided an answer to a pressing question about time management and its measurement.  The question, posed by my daughter, Emily, went like this:

Dear Mr. Sampson, My name is Emily Mack I am 7 years old. I live in California. My favorte days of the week are Wensday, Monday and Sunday.  
The things that I like are playing, Computers and writing stories.

Michael's son, David, was kind enough to post this response, along with a very helpful photo, in order to help clarify how time is measured down under.

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Treo 650, from PalmOne. The TREO is an ideal match for my Pylon iAnywhere server,  which allows me to keep my Lotus Notes E-Mail, Contacts, and other databases in sync with my mobile devices. While I probably won't send too many e-mails from my phone, I love the idea of having my Lotus Notes databases replicated to my handheld so that I can access all of my information in one place. (See my previous thoughts on this topic.) I should point out that the Pylon iAnywhere server is device independent, so I can (and will) keep profiles for multiple devices (e.g. Tungsten C, Treo 650, Pocket PC) and then just pick and take whichever device most suitable for my needs or happens to be closest at hand.

Back to the real story: Palm Infocenter is reporting the announcement of the Treo 650 SmartPhone; Treo central has a hands-on review of the unit, as well. Wondering about price? Treo central has some information on that, too. The Treo 650 looks like a good unit, I'm ready to buy two, and to encourage my clients to do the same.

Sprint has just announced service for the Treo 650 on their network and I am sure that other carriers will be quick to follow suit. There seems to be some concern about whether (or not) the Sprint offering will allow the Treo 650 to be used as a wireless laptop modem.  The current buzz is no. If that's the case, I'll be moving to AT&T's Edge network. I have faith in our competitive economic system; I know that other alternatives will emerge soon.

For me, I'm immersed in a few key client projects, so the blogging will be light. Big plans in the works for eProductivity.NET, but those will have to wait another month or so, until I complete some of my present commitments.

Tonight, Kathy and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We were married 15 years ago, but we learned that the 50th anniversary is such a special celebration that we now celebrate it each year.



I am grateful to the Lord that He has given me the desire of my heart and that He has blessed me with a Proverbs 31 woman - a wife of noble character.

I am equally delighted that when I proposed to my kindergarten sweetheart, she agreed, because tonight, we get to watch that classic movie once again.

Thank you, Kathy, for being my wife.  I'll always be your prince charming and I look forward to celebrating for many years to come.

Last week, we took a group of 60 home school kids and their parents to California Adventure for a 1/2 day overview of California history.



We were delighted by the turnout from our local home school community. The staff and tour guides put together a wonderful program in which the kids got to experience the sights and sounds of California's rich heritage. After the tour, the kids were able to enjoy the rides in the park with their friends. That night, Kathy and I took our girls to our favorite place -- can you guess where?

Nick Duffill, of Gyronix, (co-creator of ResultManager - a visual GTD Dashboard for MindManager) has just joined the blogging community. His new blog is called: Beyond Crayons.

Nick plans to focus his blog on visualisation for professionals, but I hope that he branches out (OK, pun intended) into other areas too. He's an interesting guy with lots to say. He also likes robots -- which says a lot in my book.

As I have previously posted, I'm in the process of working ResultManager into our Jr. Robotics team planning meetings. Nick's been a great resource for me and has generously provided his software and remote training to us along.
